Antwerp, Belgium
8:02 AM, on a Monday: Antwerp-Central railway station platform 6. Just one passenger.
The vast (185 metres long, 66 metres wide and 44 metres high) curved roof iron and glass trainshed is designed by Clement van Bogaert and constructed between 1895 and 1899. The station is widely regarded as the finest example of railway architecture in Belgium. It is often referred to as a “Railway Cathedral”.
